443 days after hurricane, cat returned

Christmas miracle! If that cat could talk… Also in answer who thinks the cat won’t remember her people or her home…. I can share that we left our apartment for around 14 months due to work that needed to a combination of building work beyond our control that needed to get done, and our decision to get some needed renovations done while we’d be gone. We moved away temporarily with our cats. They adjusted to the new place, but it took a while. As soon as they were back despite some closets being knocked out and a wall gone, the cats knew they were home and were extremely glad to be back.

That’s right, I know cats know us and choose to be with us if we’re lucky. My partner’s5 year old cat came with him and lived with us happily for years ā€˜till we got a dog. That was it for ole’ Micky, he left us ….for a year…. and then came back to stay till he died at 18 many years after! Plus, he took over the dog’s bed and put him in his place whenever necessary! Ha!

Do you know anything about his travels during that year? Did he just walk home one day?

My brother’s cat who was a stubborn mostly outdoor guy, managed to escape with his cone on before my brother (with limited mobility) could get him in the door. My brother left out food – which would get eaten – and called the cat and kind of walked around the house frequently looking, also checked with neighbors, but didn’t see him or hear him for about 3 months. The cat finally came to the door with his cone still on and demanded to be let inside.

I think it said this cat was found as a stray and turned in. So they must’ve scanned then.

No way he had his Cone on after being gone for 3 months! Wow! That’s amazing…micky was likely on the neighborhood too, tho he never came when I called him every day. No doubt they watched and laughed at our efforts. Cats are the epitome of independent, and ours seem to be espically stubborn

My brother was convinced the cat was coming back. My sister and were both like: ā€œWho’s going to tell him?ā€ The joke was on us!

I recently read about a dog that had been presumably stolen. Then he was found wandering the streets 10 years later in another U.S. state and was taken in and scanned. They reunited him with his human.
