Since there seems to be confusion regarding acronyms, I figured I’d spell some out for everybody. Please add or correct:
TMI - too much information
FYI - for your information
IMO - in my opinion
IMHO - in my humble opinion
CYA - cover your backside
IDK - I don’t know
LOL - laugh out loud
LMK - let me know
POV - point of view
TBH - to be honest
IDC - I don’t care
IKR - I know, right
FWIW - for what it’s worth
I’m often SMH when I read the forum.
SMH (shaking my head) acronym to express disbelief, frustration, or absolute disapproval at a wild situation.
IYKYK is an acronym that stands for "if you know, you know”

OK, I’m gonna fess up… I didnt realized this was an acronym, I thought it was just a slang word. I looked it up and I’ve been using it properly for many decades without realizing exactly the words it represents 
. It is the cousin of FUBAR 
.

Just as with words (or terms or phrases from various countries) that are unfamiliar to me, I look up acronyms on my own, because I’m self-sufficient and am not entitled enough to expect that everyone will cater to what I know or don’t. That’s especially so with forums that are international.
By the time you type a comment to ask about an acronym, phrase or such, you could have looked it up.
I’ll risk sounding entitled but I’m curious to know if acronyms like SNAFU, FUBAR or DILLIGAF are used in spoken language and if they are pronounced like words.
I’ve certainly heard SNAFU & FUBAR used as words.
Which reminded me of OMGWTFBBQ. Which makes zero sense, but apparently it’s a thing (I guess the “advanced stage” of OMG W*F )

@Newpetlover DILLIGAF is actually in a song by a very impolite comedian and it’s spoken. Look up Kevin Bloody Wilson if you would like your ears scorched. His Santa Clause song is especially funny/awful.
Trouble is, there are too many TLAs* in pet-sitting.
*Three-letter acronyms. Of course.
Exactly what I was thinking! With friends and all it’s fine to use acronyms, but isn’t it much better to just spell everything out when it’s sitters x owners? I think it comes across much more professional if you type words instead of acronyms. Even though this isn’t a business thing, this way of communicating is much better I’d say ;D
