We are currently on a house sit in Napier on the North Island of New Zealand.
Yesterday we took a walk around the neighbourhood and climbed ‘Bluff Hill’, a hill at the edge of the city.
On the hill are many beautiful homes each with its own exclusive views of the ocean and the city below.
After passing many ‘PRIVATE’ ‘BEWARE OF THE DOG’ ‘DO NOT ENTER’ signs we eventually reached the top of the hill and probably the best house with the best view of them all.
Here, the garden gate was open and two chairs were on the lawn with a sign inviting passing strangers to sit and enjoy the view.
It’s the small things in life that often have the biggest impact.
@Colin that walk uphill was worth it to enjoy the kindness and generosity of the folk at the top. Amazing view in a really interesting city. Loved Napier.
@Colin what a beautiful thing for a homeowner to do. The World is full of so much fear, segregation, doubt and distrust, it is just amazing to find someone who is so open to bringing others joy…no matter how little the gesture!
