@MTBer yes harsh but you know my ugly is someone else’s beauty ![]()
Hi James, re-order your photos! Your pets are adorable but everyone on THS has cute pets
Sitters are usually scanning through hundreds of sits and only see the thumbnail, so that is how your sit needs to stand out. I would recommend the first photos being the bathtub photo, living room photo and balcony photo.
I think the sit/house/dog look lovely. I would guess that there just aren’t that many sitters available for rural English sits in April. I keep my eye on the Wilshire area, and see plenty of lovely looking places that don’t get any applicants.
As for the person who balked at 1 hour of dog walking a day….. I don’t even know what to say.
We live in a rural area and when I’m out walking our dog I make sure to take pictures of the environment in every month of the year and include him in it. Our dog is walked off-leash so I show him from difference distances. That way sitters can see what the surroundings will look like during the period that they would be there and also how far away he’s likely to be at any one time during the walk.
What a great idea @KChev and so thoughtful.
That someone else can be myself ten minutes later ![]()
I thought sausage dogs were ugly, it didn’t put me off applying for a sit, though. I walked in and thought what a weird body shape! The chest felt similar to a chicken’s. Ten minutes later, cuddling this lovely dog I just fell in love. Not only with her but also with the breed. Dachshunds are now my favourite.
As has been discussed in the thread about
Pet beauty standards, beauty standards fall down when bonding takes place. I am never put off by a picture of a pet but I am very often attracted to a sit just by “falling in love” with their picture.
I was thinking exactly that when I read your comment. I’m one of those sitters whose main motivation for sitting in spending time with pets and getting the benefit of their cuddles so I am attracted to listings which show how cuddly and lovable the pets are.
Good luck with finding a good sitter.
Often I see some beautiful dog eyes and I’m there. Just favourited one in Scotland, my husband said where ? Scotland’s a big place, I said I don’t care where, he’s beautiful ![]()
Aww, I’m glad you still see your husband that way ![]()
