@Jenny or someone! I’ve sent messages to HO’s that I had been messaging with and it seems like any application and/or message I’ve sent in the last five or so days has gone “unread” with no response. There are a number of glitchy things happening on the platform that is rendering the platform disabled and that puts both sitters and HO’s at a disadvantage, and loss!
Hello @shipshape I am sorry to hear that you are currently having this issue. Just to let you know that I have just sent you a DM so if you could please check for this. Thank you.
Sam.
Same here. Messages and applications sent and not read. There’s a glitch somewhere.
THS claimed they had fixed it in the latest newsletter but it is possible the HO hasn’t closed and re-opened the app to refresh it and they think YOU haven’t responded.
Same here. Applications sent days ago but unread. Too many to be coincidence.
This is quite worrying.
I applied for a sitting 7 hours ago and it is unread.
How do I know whether this is part of the glitch?
This is the first application that I have sent in months so cannot compare with any others
I haven’t had a problem today. Application sent, invite received and accepted all within a few hours. All done through messaging on the website. I don’t use the app unless I am checking for any missing reviews.
They claim today that there is no glitch, it’s simply HO’s perhaps being busy, or because of the weekend, or they were talking with other sitters. Most HO’s at least read a message, even if they don’t get back straightaway.
7 hours isn’t very long, to be honest, it’s when a day or two or five have passed with a message not being read let alone responded to!
I only use the app, can’t be bothered with continuously logging into the website, it always logs me out after a day! I’d say most people probably use the app, much more convenient!

The web works for me on my iPad. I find phones fiddly .

There is also a change or what I see as a massive glitch in the messaging on the app as when I long press on a message it cancels my application with that sit instead of just archiving the message like it used to!
Maybe. But it did seem strange the way it remained unread despite me being in first 2 and it taking an hour or so to go to reviewing. It then remained unread for 2 days before a decline. I would love to know what homeowners are now seeing with the new ‘improvements’.
Hi @Brightlight I am sorry to hear that you are also having this issue. I have just sent you a DM so if you could please look out for this. Thank you.
Hi @Wildcolonialgirl I am sorry to hear that you are also having the same issue. Just to let you know that I have passed this across to the relevant team and will update once I receive a response.
Hi @Itchyfeet and thank you for tagging me to your post. Just to let you know that I have just sent you a DM so if you could please look out for this. Thank you.
@Sam_F thanks, I contacted them yesterday and got a generic reply as they didn’t recognise it as an issue.
I’m not an iPhone’r, and defo not an iPad’er! I use the app on my phone 90% of the time, hit the website when I don’t feel like being on my phone. It doesn’t matter, they’re both the same result. I’ve gone to the website and see all of my messages, and see a couple of them - one from five days ago, one from more than a day ago - unseen, unread.
I wonder if that sort of gremlin is how I got declined “by accident”. Was in the middle of talking to a HO about a sit and we were going to message again about confirmation, and then I got an auto “you weren’t chosen” message. I was like, “wut?” 4 days later, she messages me, “I don’t know what I did, I didn’t want to decline your application”. I was curious whether declining was a one-click thing for HO’s or not – could she have hit decline on a little phone screen by accident? – but this makes me wonder if she was subject to the glitch too.
