Took the photo above while in a car three days ago, headed back to the Portland, Oregon, side from Vancouver, Washington (not Canada).
Along the waterfront in Vancouver, Washington, in the U.S. (not Canada). This is an area that’s been developed into a great place to stroll, shop and dine. There are lots of restaurants and wine tasting rooms. Summer is Oregon’s best season and there’s lots of outdoor seating at restaurants along this waterfront. Vancouver, Washington, is about 30 minutes from Portland, depending on traffic.

Also in the Portland, Oregon, area:
Multnomah Falls and the Tillamook dairy – Tillamook is well-known for cheese, ice creams and such across the U.S.

The Portland area also is known for wineries. The city of McMinville has lots of tasting rooms, for example.

The Portland area also is recognized for having the best food truck culture in the U.S. Lots of foodies flock to Portland for the food scene, with plenty of great restaurants. Its vegan and vegetarian food also is among the best in the U.S.

And Oregon (the state where Portland is located) is the only one in the U.S. where the entire coastline has been protected for public use. Many travelers drive along the coast, which is lined with beach towns.

Portland also has a major microbrewing culture, recognized across the U.S.
