Bunny lovers - Experience with Rabbits

I had several house rabbits over the years as a single adult, and I do think there’s a lot more to looking after them than the uninitiated realise.
My rabbits were all lucky not to be electrocuted as they were forever chewing through wires! They needed lots of time to run about in the house and in the garden, but I had to watch them all the time.
They all developed serious health conditions so I had a lot of vet visits.
Of the four that I had, one was cuddly, two had moments of affection and one would never accept being stroked.
I would happily look after bunnies on a house sit, but I wouldn’t go thinking they don’t take much looking after. And I wouldn’t expect them to be the ideal temporary pet for my five year old daughter.
I think they are such complex creatures that perhaps they deserve their own pet category on THS, and other small furries (Guinea pigs, hamsters etc) should be separate.

To add to my bunny resources, I would also recommend on Facebook the Rabbit Awareness Action Group who post regular useful information about rabbits.
