Thank you! Appreciate the humor. She was upset about the car getting out and I was as well. Working together would’ve been nice effective than harassing me. But it all resolved
And are you able to put the dog’s harness on and walk him @ShellConn? I do hope so and that he is more relaxed with you.
No. He won’t let me get that close
With sit dogs that were timid (not aggressive) and didn’t want me to put a harness or sweater on them (even though they normally wore them with their humans), I got them into small spaces first, so they couldn’t flee. Like an enclosed foyer or a laundry room. Used treats if needed to lure them there. Once they got over their initial timidity, I no longer had a problem harnessing or dressing them. But again, I wouldn’t do this with a dog who was snarling or showing other potential aggression.
He’s a good sized husky. Not aggressive. But he darts and doesn’t lure with treats.
Maybe you can play with him, like get him tugging on a rope toy, and lure him into a small space.
Or, do like vets, who sometimes use doors to get pets into an enclosed space — swing the door so the pet is in a corner in back of the door. They sometimes give injections that way if a pet doesn’t cooperate.
Try cooked plain chicken or tinned sardines instead of regular dog treats (as long as he has no food allergies)…
I’m so glad you were able to work things out together ![]()
If you’re texting please take screen shots before she deletes her nasty messages. You may need them for proof of her reaction.
This is exactly why I hate any cameras. Homeowners who get hysterical immediately and don’t allow room for the sitter to solve a problem clearly don’t trust someone else with their pets and shouldn’t be on this platform. And what kind of vacation would they have if they’re monitoring the sitter constantly? All this technology is making things way too complicated.
