Thought rekindle this topic from few months ago.

Over recent whiles, there seems to have been a steady and increasing stream of THS Forum threads about cross-border housesitting; and about poor housesitter availability (esp for US listings). For illustration, related posts from last week alone jotted below.

Idea - introduce geography into THS membership:

- US membership: US pet parents can attract/confirm US housesitters. US housesitters can apply/confirm US listings
- NonUS membership: NonUS pet parents can attract/confirm NonUS housesitters. NonUS housesitters can apply/confirm NonUS listings
- Global: No geographic limitations to pet parents or housesitters

This may help to rebalance supply-demand for US listings and nonUS listings, and to likely reduce the number of listings that fail to secure a housesitter.

Theytold us we could enter, but there was a lot of questioning because they seemed confused when we explained that we were entering Canada to house sit through TrustedHousesitters. They appeared to view the house sit as a form of work. Has anyone else had a similar experience or ever been denied entry when traveling internationally for a TrustedHousesitters sit? We’d love to continu…

Do I tell immigration I’m pet sitting through THS? I am on the verge of canceling at this point. (edited by Forum team to meet Community Guidelines)

> Hello! I’ve had a few sitters favorite our stay, but have not yet found anybody to commit. It’s a beautiful house/area halfway between SF and LA in CA wine country. We have 6 low maintenance cats and one easygoing small dog. Any advice on how I can attract more candidates?

> Just curious - when we joined this platform almost 3 years ago, we’d get 6 responses within 24 hours, and most were great candidates. But this year, we’re struggling to get any responses, and they’re very slow to come, often taking weeks. I’m also seeing more of this: people apply, ghost my request for a call, and then withdraw. I feel like the platform is certainly losing its credibility.

> Hi I have just joined a few weeks ago mainly to get cover from a month long trip next year. I can’t tell you how shocked I was to get applications from abroad, but guess it makes sense for people who want to travel. So that was sorted as was a weekend away, but I’m really struggling to find anyone for 5/6 days in September? I’ve even listed 3 separate dates Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Jules x
