I’m with you on that. It tends to be things like a half eaten tub of coleslaw that’s usually on the turn! I think it makes people feel generous by extending the invitation to help ourselves but in reality, I’ve found it sometimes a little insulting and has created me an extra job by having to dispose of most if not all of it. There is one person I regularly sit for and bless her heart, she always makes a real effort to provide me with some fresh items to get me started and help me get settled in. I do tell her she doesn’t need to but she always does without fail and I so appreciate her making that effort. It really helps to cultivate goodwill on both sides.
