When I search for specific cities/dates, often my search doesn’t yield requested results. However, when I use the same search parameters a couple of days later-I DO get results-but the status is ‘reviewing’. So essentially the listing existed before, but I wasn’t able to see it until it’s too late for me to apply to it. I’m wondering if I renew at the premium level if this will change. Any thoughts?

@iSmellLikeParis It doesn’t matter which tier plan you are on as all have unlimited access to the platform and therefore to all listings advertised. If some listings reach 5 applications very quickly, sitters never see them.
Have you set up saved searches for where you are interested in and dates? You will then get a notification which may/may not help you be one of the first five.

If this type of hierarchy exists, I am not aware of it. I would HIGHLY recommend doing “saved searches” AND also, if there is a particular area of interest, study listings in that area (even if they are not currently active listings), and “favorite” any listings that you like.

This way, you will get alerts whenever new dates are posted. Make sure you have your settings on your phone and within the THS system set up to “allow” such alerts.

@iSmellLikeParis Listings in sough after locations with relatively few sits can receive 5 applications within minutes of being published. The strategies suggested by @temba and @PVGemini may help you see them quicker.

Reaching 5 applicants will show it as “reviewing” and stop others applying, or they may have accepted a previous sitter to sit for them, because we do a lot of return sits, so we have conversations with owners about future sit dates and agree to the dates, before their dates are even listed, so when they get listed it’s just to make it official via the site.

Good listings, and even bad ones, in popular locations will reach their 5 application limit within minutes. In some cases they will be filled before you can even see them in your search results. There is no restriction on what you see based on your membership level.

The membership level you are on won’t make any difference to the listings you see.
Out of interest where are you looking to sit? You appear to be based in the States and I would think it is sitter’s market there.

Please ensure that you understand how time zones impact when you see a listing eg I’m in the UK and Australian listings often appear during my nighttime so around 2-4am for me..

Yes—I look for new posting MANY times per day even though I have the search saved. The “alert” generally doesn’t arrive until about a half hour after I have already spotted it.
