I appreciate the refrigerator and freezer space. I cook. I once sat for a food hoarder. There were 2 large refrigerators and a chest freezer each with barely room for a pint of ice cream.
In my 60+ sits I’ve received cash gifts, supermarket and restaurant gift cards, Amazon gift cards and numerous trinkets. While I appreciate the thought on the trinkets, I just don’t need them. I spend most of the year traveling and sitting. Sadly the trinkets are just more stuff in my car waiting to get broken.
Supermarket, restaurant and Amazon cards are golden!
I have always received some small gift or meal out from my UK sits; and only 1 out of 5 for US sits.
We let the sitter/s come early & leave late. We leave some food etc. & take them to the stores in the area before we leave. We also tip them before they leave as they make not have room for gifts in their suitcase. We also drive them to the airport. We try to be good hosts & treat sitters as we would want to be treated.
That’s so awesome and appreciated I am sure. You are so likely to get happy returners with this approach! Bless you.
You are very, very generous indeed!
I some cases, I have had nothing at all offered by a Home owner.
No arrival or departure gift or thank you of any kind apart from their 5 star review. I appreciate the reviews, however it feels great to be appreciated in other ways.
So to have a Home owner do all this is really wonderful.
Just a thought… Your sitter may not know that you bought all these lovely things especially for them, unless you point it all out to them, and say that these are for them to eat and enjoy.
Not everyone is as generous as you.
