Thank you for sharing your experience @JuliePetParent. We hear of so many bad experiences on the forum and it is good to hear about the great ones as well.
I am also in my sixties and I know that caring and common sense do not have age boundaries.
A similar topic and conversation, different viewpoints, perspectives and experiences Does Age Matter - Do owners pay attention to a sitter's age?
@Smiley . I only did it yesterday Internet was down again (another reason for my worry that she had to put up with that!). Shes possibly not seen it yet.
I agree with this! We pretty much ARE who we ARE.
I am “old” (just a descriptor, people, not a judgement ) and have friends my age that I would never ask to take me to the airport or care for my dog for a few days, or anything REALLY important; while I also have friends in their early 30’s who I would call on in the same situations.
I have learned to love people who are not as ‘timely’ or as ‘responsible’ as I am, but I know their limitations and they know mine. (Such as, I don’t have much of a temper, but may blow up if I miss a flight – not really, bc I would’ve called an Uber at the very last second, and left them wondering where I was but will be mad at you for a very long time!) I have learned who to trust for what!
Same here. Some of our fellow forum members seem to just wait for me to post and then jump in to be contrarian.
I’m so glad you had a good sitter. Age is not important. I was starting babies hearts at 22. Fully grown.
