Highest Number of Repeats?

I know many of us have done repeat sits, but what is the most times you have been back to a repeat sit? For me, I have several sits that I have done about 5 times, with several of those lined up for more sits this coming year!

How about you?

Approximately four times a year for the last twelve years.
We love the dog, location and hosts (who are no longer THS members).
It’s like our second home.

Not me, but I’m going to sit for a couple in NYC who have had multiple repeat sitters, including a couple who’ve repeated their sit nine times.

It’s two cats in a high-rise with river views and a 24-doorman. Their reviews of the sit say they’re happy to keep repeating.

We get invited back a lot but we really prefer exploring new areas. Saying that though there is one particular sit we love and we will be back for our third visit in May.

I have a favourite sit for 2 cats that I have done 9 times in the last 2 years. Lots of fun activities in their city. Interestingly, they picked another sitter the first time I applied for their Christmas 2023 listing. That sitter later backed out and I was booked elsewhere. Since then they just reach out directly.

I have done 3 x 3 repeat sits and am returning to another for a 3rd time in June. However, I have told them all that I won’t again as am back in my own home so don’t need the accommodation, and am venturing into some paid sits. One of them has offered to pay me off the platform in future.

Since 2020, I have sat for the same owners 10 times. It started as looking after a senior cat but then a beautiful Labrador was included from sit number 3. By sit number 5, sadly Missy, the cat, had passed away so the remainder of the sits have been for my favourite Labrador who is elderly herself now. A truly special sit in all aspects.

We’ve just completed our 8th sit for our very first TrustedHousesitters host with 2 dogs & chickens . This host was also new to THS at the time, she has since welcomed several other sitters .

We also have another host we’ve sat for 10 x through THS. When the first sit was confirmed we were both brand new members without any reviews . They confirmed two other THS sitters for dates when we weren’t available , both of those let them down. As a result , we have became their exclusive sitters. Going forward, we’re now booked with them privately.

Both locations are ones we need to go back to frequently for work and to see family and we have many friends in the area so the arrangement works well for both parties and very well for the pets .

Another regular sit is an annual one for one dog in a stunning location . This started on THS and is now a private arrangement .

We have a number of regular repeat sits.

One we have done 6 times with a dog and a cat (2 dogs originally but one sadly passed away).

Another we have done 5 times with one dog (2 dogs on one occasion with our agreement).

We have another sit around an hour from home that we have done 7 times since February 2024! Some of these were just weekend sits. We are returning to sit for the same pets and owners but in a different house for a week at Easter.

Finally, there is a sit in our own town that we have done 3 times.

We have been invited back to other sits, but the dates haven’t worked out.

We have a three month house-only sit in Brighton, booked for the summer - it will be our 7th stay with every sit getting longer than the last!

Hi @Rhe

I was invited three times in a row to the same sitting and I was delighted. I had to cancel one though as it was very difficult to find accommodations in between.

I was invited again the following year to two sittings, but I couldn’t make it as I had other sittings previously booked on the same dates.

I wouldn’t sit again for some practical reasons, despite I love the pet.

I did another sitting twice and would love to sit for them again.

Generally speaking, there are very few sittings that I’d like to do again. There are a couple of ones I really loved and would do them again.

12 times for a sit in Yorkshire, only 25 miles from where I live, a stunning cottage in grounds of the estate. Like having our own retreat, horses, dogs & cats, 5 times in Stratford-upon-Avon, 4 dogs, twice in Wales, 5 dogs. Really enjoy these repeats but also enjoy new ones especially in France

I have sat 5 times for 1 particular dog, who I love, and he loves me, He lives 30 mins drive from my house. HIs owner is coming off THS this month due to the Booking Fees, and I will be ending my membership in the summer for same reason. (Thank goodness a certain person is taking a break from the forum so will not be here in a moment to tell me how I could get perks if I simply upgraded to Premium). I am enjoying the silence. I will continue to sit for her dog. I also have a lady with a Parrot and 3 Poodles who I regularly sit for, my next one there will I think be my 4th.

We have done one particular sit 19 times, over the last 10 years. The 4 old cats have all passed away, and they now have 2 younger cats. We have become close friends with the pet parents, who now schedule their travels around our availability.

Of the 251 house sits we have done in the last 11 years, 67% are repeats. I created an Excel spreadsheet, House Sitting Log, with a calendar, database and pivot tables that summarize by country (8), location, year, number of pets (539), number of days, pet parents, etc. I was a financial analyst, so I enjoy keeping up my skills!
