Hi , my partner and I are on our 4th sit and would like some advice on how we could get a sit to include skiing. How to post or find a sit 
There isnât a filter for skiing but you could set up a saved search for an area and time you would like to visit. You can also favourite listings so you get a notification when new dates are listed.
Of course you would need to bear in mind the amount of time you will be away from any pets. I wouldnât think dog sits are conducive to skiing.

You could try the Search Plus (BETA) to see if putting âskingâ as a key word brings up any relevant listings ?

@Sean1977, weâve completed multiple housesits where we could ski. Weâre scheduled to housesit in Whistler Canada this Christmas 
, but i digress.
As @Twitcher rightly noted, appropriate pet care is essential. Unless housesit is in a ski resort (unlikely) or unless youâre housesitting as a couple but skiing solo ⌠then youâre probably looking for housesits without dogs.
Not sure of the continent of your desired destination. Many Canadians are âsnowbirdsâ - they fly away when it gets cold, bless. Some of them have no pets or live in proximity to ski hills.
Suggest setup multiple Saved Searches - youâre allowed up to 50 - for interesting locations, dates, pet types, etc of interest to you.
If you have a specific geography in mind then suggest browse inactive listings in that area and favourite those that, if listed, would credibly allow you to ski. Youâll then receive notifications if a listing appears.
As âgotyourbackâ suggested, I would start by jotting down places you would like to visit that allow you to ski. I live in B.C. and thereâs a popular ski resort called Sunpeaks in Kamloops, B.C. Thereâs a listing up right now that has 2 dates for February & March with only one applicant. I did this sit years ago and it was lovely. Good luck!
Iâve skied while sitting with dogs in the western US. I have an Icon Pass so itâs reasonable to take a few a runs a day rather than trying to get your $ worth out of a single day ticket.

@Globetrotter, great shoutout - Sun Peaks is a wonderful ski hill. We also like Silverstar, but smaller but ample terrain and less busy. But plenty choices available
If you want to ski in Europe, Switzerland has some sits in mountainous areas. Just search for the Grisons and Valais regions. But bear in mind that, due to climate change, there might not be enough snow in some ski resorts. Both regions have glaciers where, at least in winter, skiing is generally possible, although this may involve some additional travel.
I hope that you donât take this the wrong way : If your priority is to go skiing, perhaps using THS is not the best fit for your vacation.
My reason for suggestiing this is that your request sounds like , âWe want to go skiing and how can we do this less expensively.â Certainly nothing wrong with wanting to minimise costs on a vacation (We ALL want to do that).
Of course there are sits on which skiing will be possible and a seach should reveal some options. That said, if skiing is your priority and caring for pets is secondary, perhaps and ABNB might be more appropriate for your goals.
If you are fortunate enough to find a sit which meets your desires, letting the HO know of your plans is a good idea.

@toreishi People do all kinds of different things on sits. As long as someone is close enough to a ski area there is no reason they canât go skiing. That doesnât mean they are skiing every single day or will be gone 12 hours a day. When I ski itâs typically for about 4 hours, maybe 5 at the most. I could certainly do that on a sit (I sit for cats).
Iâm imagining a magical sit where the HO stipulates âSimba is part of an important feline mountain search and rescue team in the area. It is therefore critical that any sitter that applies be ok with daily ski runs with Simba to keep up his skillsâ. Most sitters would hate it - but you only need one! 
Yes to skiing w dogs! I saw a sit in Tahoe w a dog named Storm who was a part of the ski patrol search and rescue team! I missed applying for him and regret it to this day!
