The host of my current sit would like to shorten the sit, which is fine for me. Can they cancel and then reinvite/rebook me after changing dates, or do they need to contact member services? Sit has already begun. Thanks for your help!
The best thing would be for them to contact membership services to get the dates changed @Jcat33.
You are already on the sit correct? And you are both fine with the changes? Then just work it all out directly with the HO.
Had a similar situation. I would have been fine with it, except that with the new system on THS I couldn’t apply for another sit, because it was “overlapping”.
Yep, exactly!
Yes…but I think it’s not allowing her to make changes due to fact that sit has begun already. Perhaps HO now has to contact member services after sit has started, to do this? I don’t know. She’s not super familiar with app so not sure…
They don’t need to contact member services, but the process is a little cumbersome. The HO would need to cancel/delete the sit. The homeowner would then put the new dates into the system, but in order to avoid suddenly getting a bunch of new candidates, they should make this a private invitation to you alone. Then you would “accept” the “invitation” to apply for the sit. This doesn’t confirm the sit. The HO would then have to confirm you for the sit. Then you would need to accept the sit.
EDITED: Just read last post that the sit has started already so not sure if that works!
I personally find it’s easier to just make sure there’s a record of the agreed upon changes in the chat history and then contact membership services so they can do it.
I also feel like if enough people do this, they may decide to implement a feature to allow people to easily modify in future so they don’t have to continue to do it manually
Thanks guys. She tried to cancel and reinvite me but I think because it’s begun already, she’s not able to do it. At least it didn’t seem to work. I’ll let her know to contact member services.
We have had this happen quite a few times, they are away and frankly if I were in that position the last thing I would be wanting to do is have to go into a dialogue with customer team over changing the dates (Unless the sitter was trying to apply for other sits because the sit was shortened)
I usually put on my review the actual dates that were sat (If I don’t forget, which I did recently, it was listed as 7 days it was 13, ho hum)
