I’m a full-time sitter here and sit as a couple. I’m interested in sitter’s actual experiences as duo sitters since the option was offered almost a year ago. My search didn’t turn up many recent posts. So, I have a few questions if anyone wants to discuss.
Has the Duo Sitting option been worthwhile to you? Do the positives outweigh the negatives, and why? Is the program running smoothly or do you regret your decision to sign up? Homeowners are welcome to express their opinions/stories too.
I am about to use it for the first time next weekend. I have 2 sits that overlap by a night, 15 mins apart, and the hosts have agreed that just dropping in to feed and cuddle on the overlapping day/night is fine.
I havent confirmed the 2nd sit yet as need to video call, so really hoping its going to work as it should.
My husband and I never did overlapping sis all that often so when the option was taken away it didn’t really affect us that much. But when I saw the duo option introduced I figured it couldn’t hurt to get it and set it up as soon as it was available.
In this time we have only used it twice. It was helpful in filling smaller gaps in our schedule between two sits that were near each other.
While I think it is a good feature to maximize flexibility and options, we often don’t end up staying in one area for multiple sits, at least ones close enough together where splitting up would be feasible or possible.
With the number of sits available in somewhere like the US for example, it is easy enough to find back to back sits.
But overall I definitely think it’s a good option to have and I will continue to keep it. There are certainly areas where I would be interested in possibly staying longer term and having the option to overlap would definitely be helpful.
For example, if I went back to the UK, we really liked London and that is definitely somewhere I would stick around as there are so many different areas to see
Also, the UK is somewhere that we traveled by public transportation and if it was easy enough for one of us to go on to another sit in a different area while the other stayed behind, we would consider doing that.
Just to add on to my earlier comment- i have now confirmed both sits and it was straightforward. I cant remember how much i paid for the duo upgrade but i am pretty sure it was less than the cost of a (decent) hotel in belgium so it has already paid for itself!
We are full time sitters and have used it a few times. Happy it exists (even if it used to be free and not limited to 2 days, but let’s not go there
)
