Went to a thrift store, like you do, and saw this little display of clip on ties for tiny children. Naturally I had to buy one and attach it to the dog’s collar.

I did this for my dog when he was a puppy and my neighbor loved it so much she asked if he could be a “special guest” at her bachelorette party 
. He was the hit of the weekend and by far the best gentlemen.
