I am currently on a sit that I am having a difficult time with, for various reasons. When I clicked the house ad just now, it came up as ‘listing not available’. I have only seen this happen before when a member has deactivated their account or their membership has expired. I am concerned that I may not protected under THS for the remainder of the sit, and that I won’t be able to leave a review for what has been my most challenging house sitting experience to date.
I don’t want to ask the HO directly about the status of their account as communication has been fraught and I don’t want to contact them unnecessarily (it also takes several days for a response). I just wondered if there may be an alternative reason for this message to appear whenever I click of my current sit? To be honest, it’s unlikely their membership has expired since they just posted a new house ad last week for a sit starting shortly, so I can’t imagine they’d be doing it offline, given they are relatively new. Any insights would be gratefully received.
If the listing is unavailable how are you accessing the Welcome Guide? And you won’t be able to review each other. It may be that they haven’t renewed their membership but I would ask them and also check with THS.
It looks like the conversation between us and Welcome Guide are still accessible so I’m guessing it is a glitch in the system. I have reached out to THS to resolve, thank you.
You might want to check whether it’s local to you first. Maybe check whether your app or browser is updated, and/or try on another device (if you have one at hand). In some other instances, I’ve suggested that folks try another browser and that has worked at times.
Just to let you know that I have passed this across to the Membership Services team and someone will be in touch with you shortly, so please do keep a lookout out for an email from them.
@anon52587707 There is also the possibility that the listing has been reported for missing some mandatory information/photos and it has been taken down for those things to be included.
Thank you. Yes, I’m starting to wonder if it’s something along those lines. I did receive a response from THS but they stated that they were ‘unable to disclose’ why the listing had been removed which, if I’m honest, hasn’t reassured me in the slightest but certainly sounds deliberate rather than a glitch in the system.
I was their first sitter but they recently posted an ad for their next sit, and had reached ‘reviewing applications’ last week. I’m wondering if something shady was suggested during the video calls that has instigated an investigation. They are the kind of homeowners who treat sitters like unpaid ‘help’ so it certainly wouldn’t surprise me. Glad to see THS taking action if this was the case but I’m concerned I may not be able to leave a frank review (though, if the suspension is more than temporary, they won’t be having THS sitters in the future anyway!)
I’m hoping they will, they’re just taking their time It does feel a little unsettling still being in their house, but fortunately, I only have a few days left.
