Hi everyone, we joined the site in November 2025 as premium members and we are currently on our first sit (we’ve been a little slow off the mark)
Only just signed up to the community forum and there so many old posts on there.
I’ve seen mentioned of a fee per sit which I believe only comes into force at renewal (if I’ve read that right) but doesn’t apply to premium members. I also saw a fleeting comment about a 5 sit rule. I don’t believe I’ve had an email about these changes… would someone be able to tag me in the official post from admins about what’s up and coming please. There seems to be a lot of varying explanations.
You’re correct re: the booking fees — they won’t apply if you’re premium members — and SilverSitters has pointed you to info re: the 5-application limit.
Unfortunately there’s nowhere to go for news about what’s coming next, as THS doesn’t tend to make that information available to members until just before or after it actually happens. However, if there are any announcements, they usually get posted here by the Forum mods in the Product Updates thread. You may also sometimes receive some product info via a digital newsletter that goes out.

Suggest two tactics to advance your learning. First, ‘new product updates’ category on left side of screen includes various threads about THS new functions and requests (some long-dated) by THS Forum members re functionality. Second, search magnifying glass at top screen allows access to past THS Forum threads.
There’s a whole lot of content on THS Forum. Worth noting that only a modest fraction of THS members are likely users on THS Forum; and that specific housesit challenges on THS Forum are outlier exceptions rather than normal (people come to Forum for help).
This page should have all the info you need about the booking fee.
As you joined in November 2025, this will take effect after your renewal - it’s worth mentioning that Premium members skip the booking fee’s.
As mentioned above, back in 2022, a 5 application limit was introduced.
Prior to that an unlimited number of applications could be received for any sit (which could potentially be overwhelming). If an owner declines some applications, the sit can open up again until that limit of 5 is again reached.
