I just don’t think they care, as their interests are what the spreadsheets say. Not the quality of user experience. But I don’t know how long the website will fair if a lot of house owners continue to suffer low applications.

@PanamaVeggie, we agree with @MerryPuppins comments. Suspect that there are many housesitters that do not have issues with senior pets. We’ve certainly completed maybe ten housesits with senior pets. That said, the pet care requirements of senior pets (perhaps like senior humans!) varies a great deal so perhaps some aspect of your pet care needs may be specific - your THS listing is not connected to your THS Forum profile so just guessing.
Also FWIW, Panama has been a country of interest for us. We were unable to find listings with dates for which we had availability. Some Panama listings seem to be listed last minute - we typically booked ourselves multiple months in advance.
Regardless, suggest take time to freshly review your listing. Ensure photos are attractive and complete. Include amenities and text suitable for international housesitters (travel, attractions, honest pet care). If reasonable trade then suspect that you’ll receive applicants. Good luck.
I’m so sorry to hear of the difficulty you’re experiencing. As someone who just joined THS as a sitter, the only possible consideration that might prevent me from accepting such a sit is this: if the pet was a senior like yours AND the sit was a few months out AND I had to fly a long ways, I’d be a little worried that perhaps the sit might get cancelled if the pet passed prior to the start of the sit and then I have this plane ticket. I love senior dogs! And though puppies are adorable, they are a LOT of work!
