Some that surfaced when I did a quick search for “potato chips” among my photos:

The last one didn’t seem rare, but I liked the packaging, because it reminded me of my years of working at newspapers.

Potato chips (aka crisps) are my kryptonite and I make a point of seeking out new-to-me local flavours when I travel.

@Maggie8K I love the look of the Mackie’s of Scotland, Boxing Day curry flavour. I have never seen them before so I will definitely keep a look out for them, thank you! :+1:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

I think I bought those in Dubai.

I love going to supermarkets abroad and checking out different products, whether I’m sitting or doing other travel.

@Sam_F @Maggie8K top tip if you’re looking for Mackie’s crisps in the UK… they’ve rebranded to “Taylors” I’ve heard differing reports about whether or not they taste the same. Might have to do my own taste test

Picked up some new chips/crisps to try, as well as other treats from various countries. Among them, osmanthus-flavored Pepsi, matcha ice cream-flavored Oreos and standbys such as Hobnobs and Tunnock’s wafer bars.

Love Cost Plus World Market for countless treats from abroad.

Those are from Korea. I don’t know whether you’ll be near any ethnic supermarkets — you might find them there. I live near huge ones and am always tempted by aisles full of treats unknown to me. I wish it were easier to try a bunch, versus having to buy a bagful.

I picked up some unusual popcorn in Korea - honey butter chicken - gotta try it, right? It was pretty weird, a sweetish popcorn with a savoury chicken aftertaste

I don’t like to waste food, so sometimes when I’ve bought something to try and don’t enjoy it, I’ve tried mixing it into things. Like I might add the item to soup or a salad. It often works, funny enough.

When I’m home and order from a new restaurant and the items aren’t tasty, I will often mix dishes together.

My husband sometimes tries to refuse dishes that have turned out to not be tasty, but I tell him, if you get the benefit of the winning dishes I’ve ordered for us, you also have to help eat the losers. :joy: I likened it to gambling with someone — not fair if you only share wins and not losses.

@Maggie8K yes! We have some interesting concoctions because neither of us like waste, so it ends up being used again in other variations. My mother-in-law loves when we visit, because she always makes/buys too much food, and I can’t throw away, so I end up eating the leftovers and then her fridge empties up a bit

You have the best taste in snacks @Maggie8K - are the Oreos as delicious as they sound?

Thanks, @Jenny. Will let you know when I try them.

are you talking about Oreo cookies? Either chocolate or vanilla with the creme in between?

Matcha ice cream flavoured Oreos in this case! I’ve tried the original ones, but was curious about what the matcha ones tasted like!

why matcha ice cream? Wouldn’t it be matcha flavored? or are these Oreo ice cream sandwiches matcha flavored?
