I melted some over the top of my home-made mac and cheese last night! It’s SO GOOD!
Chocolate hobnobs HHHHmmmm
Yup! I especially like the dark chocolate ones, which are harder to get hold of.
yes the dark chocolate digestives are more popular now but the Hobnobs with dark choccie are indeed less accessible or maybe good (otherwise they disappear too quick)
We live close to a store with a large selection of British treats (as well as treats from many other countries). There are usually milk chocolate Hobnobs and, even when they’re sold out, there’s dedicated shelf space for them. But not so with dark chocolate. Likewise, they usually carry Tunnock’s wafers or tea cakes from Scotland, but not the dark chocolate versions.
I think that’s because it’s easier to keep turning over fresh stock. Not everyone likes dark chocolate, so it’s easier to keep inventory simpler.
I load up on dark chocolate versions while traveling.
Any takers out there?
Menu seen today at a cafe on the Isle of Man. We are taking care of a cat and I think even he would give it a try!
Never tried Tunnocks. But am lucky to have even Dutch supermarkets here in the Hague that sell choc digestives plain & milk and even Marmite in their permanent assortiment . We have a super market that has even got it’s own version of hobnobs (oat crunchies) and also sometimes has. We have so many expats in the Hague that they normal supermarkets have lots of especially UK products and if you really want something extra like coming up to Christmas things like christmas puds, cake , mince pies etc then we also have the expat food stores.
That’s great. Yes, the store I mentioned loads up extra on British (and other international) Christmas and New Year’s goodies, too. The only thing better is say going to London for the holidays and loading up on treats, bound for home.
I’m thinking we might head to Europe during the holiday season. If so, I will buy every dark chocolate Tunnock’s wafer bar that I see!
Reminds me of a dog-friendly restaurant we visited during a road trip last year along the U.S. Atlantic coast. This was a stop we made in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a city popular with tourists.

Hi @Lainie and welcome to the forum. It’s great to hear you had a great first experience with THS. Would you like to share photos of your 4 pets? We all love cute pet photos!
I’m a sitter living in Gloucestershire UK. I’m sitting in the car in the car park at work at the moment - I’d love to be able to work from home! I’ll be heading into the school I work at for a very needed coffee in a few minutes!
