Probably addressed somewhere, but figured it’s worth bringing back up. As with most of you, when I’m interested in a sit, I’lI always check out the reviews of previous sitters. For those sitters no longer on the platform (Past Sitters), their reviews and \* ratings don’t appear. If THS “owns” reviews of both sitters and HOs, why wouldn’t such reviews still be visible? Why would a HO be penalized because someone has left THS? It effects my interest in a sit when I see blank reviews, which is probably the case with others. I’m assuming it’s the same situation for sitters when a HO leaves THS? Bring back the reviews. Don’t penalize members. ---

Privacy laws such as GDPR force companies to remove data when a user asks. If companies don’t comply, they can be fined a percentage of their revenue. To keep things standard and simple, some global companies apply that uniformly among users who ask. ---

Seems odd to me that someone would request their reviews be removed. Nothing compromising about a review. ---

Such requests would involve having all data removed, not just reviews. And of course, everyone has their own preferences and priorities with their privacy. ---

I am looking at a listing right now where the same sitter has a review that’s still up and one that says “past sitter”. Why would only one of he reviews be showing? Another review says “past sitter” and I click on their profile and they look to still be active. Does “past sitter” just mean past for that specific sit, and they chose not to write a review, but they are still active on THS? ---

Ok, so “Past Sitter” can mean either a sitter no longer on the platform or simply someone who didn’t leave a review? ---

‘Past Sitter’ did the sit but didn’t review. If you tap on their picture and it goes to their profile then they are still active. If you tap on their picture and just get a buffering heart, they are no longer a member. A sitter identified as a ‘Former Member’ has asked for their info to be removed. If that member did a review, stars will still show but the written portion will not (assuming that the review was AFTER sitters were granted the privilege of giving stars). ---

And as an aside: while I am **really** grateful that these sits now show up on sitters’ profiles at least, this broken linking issue is something that still needs to be addressed for the full fix to be complete. It’s inherently unfair that you can’t go look at the review the sitter left the host in return (or if they left a review at all.) It could indicate the difference between a forgetful host who missed the deadline despite a lovely sit, or a nightmare sitter or host you really want to steer clear of. ---

On the website, where it says, “Inactive pet parent,” I can still see my reviews from those hosts. (Versus sitters with reviews that are missing, probably because those former hosts asked for their info/data to be removed.) ---

Tangentially, I had a great recent sit and wanted to see whether any neighbors were looking to host. (When I was there, I went to a deli and learned through the guy making my sandwich that another customer wanted my contact info, because they used THS as well.) Anyway, I just saw a live listing in that area, from a pair of hosts without any sitter reviews. I was using the THS website, so I then went to the app to check whether they’re missing any reviews from a sitter(s). Well, unexpectedly, the app showed one review, a positive one, even though the website showed none. (That’s an apparent change, because previously the app showed \>missing\< reviews, and the website did not.) ---

I have seen ‘Former Member’ and ‘Past Sitter’ but never the word Inactive. ---
