Pillow Talk

So how many have photos to share of animals that fell asleep on you and you became their warm pillow for a while?
There can be no better definition of trust!

I’m too lazy to go back and look for photos of pets sleeping on me, but many do, whether on the couch or bed. I sleep with most of my sit pets. My own dog sleeps on me and with me all the time.

I think it’s huge that any animal would trust you when they’re at their most vulnerable.

On one sit, sleeping together was especially fortunate, because a senior sit dog who’d been sick for years ended up having back to back seizures on the guest bed we slept in together. Because of that, I knew to rush her to urgent care late at night. If we hadn’t been sleeping together, she might’ve died if she’d been sleeping alone downstairs in her doughnut.

Her family ended up cutting short their trip and scrambling home so we could all say goodbye before she was put to sleep. That was heartbreaking enough. I can’t imagine if I hadn’t been sleeping with her and if she’d died alone and I had to find her dead the next morning. And even worse, if her family hadn’t gotten to say goodbye. One of the couple had had her since she was a puppy.

The sit I’m on now is a pillow talk kind of sit. One of the pups sleeps on my arm and neck with her forehead next to mine like a baby. She reminded me so much of one of my pups that I had in my childhood that did the same thing that I cried :(.

This is gonna be the hardest sit for me to leave .
