Ranking the best guard dogs

I wanted to share this photo as I think it’s a good starting point for discussion.
Some dogs I’ve looked after have been excellent guard dogs, others less so!
I’m presently being guarded by a Beagle. He has great hearing and vision! He is a good guard dog and reacts when anyone approaches the gates or a vehicle dares to approach the perimeter. I walk him past a Labrador who makes an impressive display to visitors, including the show of teeth!
Do you think this ranking is accurate? What is your experience?

Chihuahuas should be listed here too! Where would you place then?
I was reading yesterday of a French Bulldog who lost its life defending its owners from a bear attack. Some heroes come in small packages.

As for guard dogs, I used to have a standard schnauzer, and I think he’d have been far too food motivated to be a good guard dog given a treat, he would simply start asking for belly rubs
