Hi Has anyone claimed after a sit being cancelled at short notice ? Was you claim successful ? The T&C seem very vague as to whether a claim will be paid and talks about own insurance for accommodation costs. ---

Yes there are quite a few examples of successful claims on the forum. Use the spyglass at the top of the main page to find the threads. Are you a sitter or a host? The most important things are filing the claim within 24 hours of the cancellation (or it’s invalid) & then the evidence of costs and available/non available alternative sits or sitters to stand a chance of it going through. We’re sitters who have successfully claimed for a sit cancelled within 14 days of the start date with no alternatives possible and then replacement accommodation found within 20 miles of the sit location. The claim paid us out about $900 minus the $150 excess fee for replacement accommodation (the max is $1500) and within 2 weeks of filing it. #bestofluck
