Sitter being left in a vulnerable position

Due to recent sit experiences, and reaching out for support on the unofficial Facebook group, I have grown increasingly concerned that little to no thought is being given to sitter safety. HOs are vulnerable, yes, in that they are leaving their house and pets in the hands of a stranger, but sitters are vulnerable in that they are adjusting to a new environment while having little control who has access to that environment.

Is it actually safe to be a solo sitter?

Hi @Dani85

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re experiencing some concerns around sitter safety.

Would you like to share more about what’s happened, and see if our Forum members can give you any advice?

Hi @Dani85 - I saw your post and thought people were being wholly unkind and unhelpful. I’d be unnerved with a group of unofficial workmen suddenly on what appeared to be your sit’s gardens. Where are you in the world? (We had something similar in Sri Lanka and I threatened to leave until the host resolved it). How long is the sit? Are their other neighbours nearby? Have you had any unwanted attention? Hopefully the forum and mods can be more assistance in helping you feel safe and supported. #tellusmore
