Thank you, yes I’ve heard that before. I was told at 7am to evacute the current house sit as I was not following the d=feeding instructions. I find this hard to believe, I think it is possibly as the pet owners have cameras and recording devices in the house, the police came to inspect the place and told me I have absolutely no rights at all, it is a civil case, and possibly have photos of me with a stitch on, and I cannot get any support as I am locked out of my account.
Smoke detectors…?
Every home should have smoke detectors. A smoke detector is not listening to you…? unless they’re some techy new thing I’ve never heard of. Can’t comment on the smart hub thingies as I would never have one.
You called the police to come to a house you’re sitting in…?

@trasee can you provide more information. Why were the police there? Why is your account locked?
I have seen many posts over the years where cameras are misidentified (PIR sensors etc) and or hubs incorrectly identified as listening devices. The best thing to do is do a google image search of each device or ask ChatGPT about the device’s capabilities.
Not easy to understand what you’re trying to say. Of course you have rights but all rights are limited, unless you say what rights you are referring to and what the problem with smoke detectors is, I’m afraid you can’t get much advice here.
Also, please consider that this is just a forum where members share experiences and advice but members like yourself do not represent THS, you might want to avoid using “you” when you mean THS. @Nofurbabies is just a member of the forum.

Hi Sam, it’s been over 30 days and I still can’t log into my account because of the 2FA. how long with the tech team take to get back to you?
The sit ended early, I unplugged two of the three Google Nest WiFi, the pet owner sent a text almost immediately saying he had a notification they were unplugged. He said it was fine if the internet was working okay. A week later his wife sent a message to say they would prefer they were plugged in.
Messages were being sent offering advice after some unimportant event that seemed like a coincidence.
It occurred to me after I left that the cat’s collar had something hard and bulky in it. I think that’s why they freaked out when the WiFi expanders were unplugged. It was a small house and seemed a lot, the Internet worked better when they were off.

Smoke detectors are available with hidden cameras, also on pet collars. They are everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes. I understand that when pet owners leave their pet and home for a stranger to care for that that can leave a certain amount of anxiety, in particular if there is already underlying anxiety issues, which is one reason why people get pets in the first place. They may feel that placing a camera in their home may give them extra security, but this is only going to have the opposite affect where they think it is a good idea to check in and monitor every day. This imposing a hostile control on the sitter as they often watch and send messages relevant to what is going on in their home.
This problem is over for me and I would like to close this thread as I’ve moved the pin issue over as I have left the place and to another thread. As for being locked out of my account, that is another problem several people have, it sounds like THS requires a gmail account for the 6-digit pin to work. That, to me is a 3FA, the pw and email verification is a 2FA. three is overkill.
