Hi I have just joined a few weeks ago mainly to get cover from a month long trip next year.
I can’t tell you how shocked I was to get applications from abroad, but guess it makes sense for people who want to travel.
So that was sorted as was a weekend away, but I’m really struggling to find anyone for 5/6 days in September? I’ve even listed 3 separate dates
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Jules, I just took a peek at your listing which looks great.
With regard to the dates, are you looking to get away for all of those dates or just putting the dates out there to see if there is any interest?
I am only asking because of the one day inbetween the last two sets of dates. Could you advertise 6-18 September? A longer sit may be more appealing to some sitters.
Hi no I’ve put 3 separate listings when I can go away, but will only be going for one of them 5/6 days.
I didn’t mind which weeks so I added them separately to hopefully give myself a little more success. I’ve contacted people directly too but had no luck there so far either. I suppose people would rather stay in a fancy house or by the sea !

It sounds like you have sitters lined up for a couple of dates so your listing is obviously appealing although some of your photos are displaying at a strange angle.
For sitters without a car I would mention the public transport options from your home. Explain how easy it would be to spend a few hours in say Manchester or Liverpool.
Perhaps amend the heading of your listing to ‘Flexible dates in September’.
A sit doesn’t have to be a mansion with a sea view to attract sitters.
Cat sits are usually very popular and a friendly listing like yours goes a long way.

Your listing is great, I think it’s more that shorter sits are less appealing than longer ones (especially with the advent of booking fees) and or people are more likely to leave it to nearer the time to book. I take the view that if I get a THS sitter for longer sits then that covers the membership fee nicely; if I also get a THS sitter for shorter sits, that’s a bonus. (Im in the same boat, seeking a sitter for a short break in September.)
My only tweak would be to put a picture of Alfie as your cover photo (the one of him reclining on the grey chair). There’s an ongoing debate on here whether it should be the house or the pet: my personal preference is for the pet unless the house is outstanding.

Hi how do I swop my main photo please? I’ve managed to delete the original but how do I add Alfie as the cover photo?
Some sitters want minimum 7 nights for each sit, and there is a filter when sitters search for listings. Sitters who set the filter for 7+ nights will not see your listing. It might help to choose dates to include 7 nights rather than 5/6.
