Hi everyone, I’ve been on THS for a long time as a sitter. Suddenly, I’m getting a TON of invitations each day (used to get like, one a month?), and not sure why. I did cancel ‘notifications’ for a few weeks and when I re-engaged notifications, that’s when the flood of invites started. What can i do to stop this, if anything? I appreciate the invites but it’s too much, and typically not areas I’m interested in.

On here as well as a more extensive thread on the Facebook unofficial THS forum, sitters have reported that they recently got a THS email announcing a new feature followed by some of them getting slews of invites to sit in locations they have not expressed interest in.
So a) you’re not alone b) it seems to be only US sits possibly due to THS trying to fill the void created by the current US government’s anti-immigration policies c) no one has offered any way to turn these invites off, and some are receiving up to 15 per day.
Since not all sitters are getting these invites, unless it’s a random algorithm sort of thing, or something in your profile that cannot be modified such as review ratings or location, there might be a way to change something in your profile to “crack the code” so you can stop the onslaught.
@Jcat33, curious. That seems a whole lot of invitations - you’re popular!
Perhaps it’s a temporary tech issue?
Regardless, if it’s frustrating you then consider adding text to the top of your profile - “I am not interested in unsolicited invitations-to-sit” or “I ask that Pet parents not directly invite me to sit unless I have applied to their listing” or similar.
