Hi ! My partner and I had a nightmare pet sitting this week-end with 2 big dogs who were poorly educated. They were jumping on us, not responding to orders, we got our hands chewed. We were even too scared to sleep with them and they were barking and banging the door. That was so scarry. On top of that, the owner left us a 1 star comment, destroying us. He even said that we let the kitchen and the toilets dirty, which is not true.
We have some video proofs of the bad behaviour of the dogs. Does this situation already happened to one of you ?
Cleaning standards vary so much, that’s hard to reply to. However, the dogs being so aggressive needs to be mentioned in a review—were you able to do that?
Sorry for your experience, these two dogs sound so scary barking and banging on your door, I wonder if any sitters here are brave enough to sleep with the them.
Did you leave the HO a review or respond to their review?
We wrote a polite review saying that the dogs were jumping on us and barking all night. We didn’t mention the fact that they chewed our hands or were barking on us with fixing us straight in the eyes… maybe we should have, we have so regrets now
Yes we respond to his review but he said that it’s wrong and that we traumatized his dog + locked them in a room. This is totally wrong, i have videos of the dogs navigating between the inside and the garden…
That doesn’t matter now @Travelerthiswld as reviews are blind and neither party sees their review until either both are completed or when the 14 days are up where one party didn’t leave a review.
Thanks I know the reviews are blind, I just wonder, if the HO left a review first, did they expect it to be a good review? There should be some signs if the HO is happy or not through communications. Is that why the OP left a polite review not telling all the truth which they regret now.
And if OP had such a horrible experience, normally the sitters wouldn’t leave a “polite” review first, some people choose not to leave a review
We were not bitten, i mean it was really light but i have videos of what i advance. Yes maybe i should report that to THS. Do you know how to proceed in that case ?
I don’t, I’m afraid. I’m lucky enough never to have needed to do it. But I’m sure someone more clued up will be able to help.
I accept that the dogs didn’t bite you, as in clamping down with their jaws. But as part of the behaviour you’ve described, I find it too worrying to go unreported. The next sitter might actually get hurt. And that should never be on the cards.
