The listing that caught my eye today!

A sitting in a very popular European city states ‘in a little closet I have marijuana plants but they are PERFECTLY LEGAL in xxxxx’ (country redacted), accompanied by a photo.

What’s caught your attention?

I saw a listing today for a 25 day sit in a nice 1 bedroom apartment in a popular area of Southern California. However, the host will be locking off her room and having the sitter sleep on the couch in the living room–she says it is very comfy with linens provided. There is no mention of it being a pull out and it does not look like one from the photo.

I can totally understand hosts preferring sitters not sleep in their room; however, when you do not have another room to offer, this just seems inhospitable–even if it is a pull out-- especially for a sit that is almost one month. However, you may find sitters who do not mind.

The listing did go into review at one point and I just saw it repost–I am curious if she lost any applicants who perhaps did not read the listing all the way through initially and withdrew when they realized they would not have a bed.

So nothing particularly unusual though you don’t see this often—feel like most hosts would not ask sitters to do this.

One month sit, the owner let the sitter stay in her caravan where herself doesn’t live

Hahaha! That reminds me of this sign I saw on a fence whilst out on a walk yesterday:

Hi @KC1102

From what you’ve described, I think it would be worth reporting that listing to membership services for a second look. :folded_hands:

(The image below outlines how to report a listing  )

Hi Mark, how do we report a listing using the web version of THS (Windows laptop)? Thanks!

Hi @Rhe,

Hope you’re doing well.

I don’t have a windows laptop to hand, but using a Macbook (and Google Chrome browser), I’ve taken a screenshot of a live listing on web - I’ve also removed all of the hosts information.

Report button highlighted in red box.

If the option isn’t showing on your laptop, please do drop me a DM with a screenshot from a listing. :handshake:

Killjoy :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Thank you Mark! Yes, I see it clearly now, I don’t think I was sufficiently caffeinated earlier!

A listing that says there’s a lodger in the attic who is at work “most of the time” but does share the kitchen .

I don’t think seeing the washing on the line in the dry backyard as the main photo captures the image of the “beautiful waterfront home”! However, you probably won’t be lonely as 17 year old son lives downstairs and shouldn’t be a worry and might not even be there!

I know people complain about the home not matching the listing photos (which looked nice) but I have seen countless listing photos that show a house/apartment that is a real mess!

On the one hand, you gotta appreciate the honesty of seeing what you’d be up against during the sit. On the other hand, it’s kind of boggling that people don’t even bother to do stuff like remove clothing from the floor before taking the photos!

Clear dog mess from garden and lift dung from field.

Seen today in a Xmas listing, and a very Merry Xmas to you as well.

And these people wonder why they can’t get a sitter :thinking::thinking:

If they live in a popular area, such things don’t matter to many people. There’s a sit that pops up from time to time in my search area; the profile picture is the bathroom sink!

A sit where a 3rd party is expected to stay in the sit for over 20 days and the sitter is expected to clean the apartment and care for the pet… essentially a live-in maid.
