What are you watching?

If anyone needs something original, really well written & very funny to watch then Shrinking is ingenious - Harrison Ford & Jason Segel. Written by Brett Goldstein (Roy from Ted Lasso). A bunch of therapists, one whose wife has just died, brilliant humanity observation, stellar cast. Apple TV+ or streaming. Two seasons.

Was watching ā€˜a good girlā€™s guide to murderā€™ on Netflix, when half way through the first episode I realised that the tiny little English village it was filmed in looked very familiar; it was Axbridge, where we had just done a pet sit a few weeks prior  Thought it was a funny coincidence!

Iā€™m currently flying through episodes of Riviera on Netflix. I loved Julia Stiles in ā€œ10 Things I Hate About Youā€ (showing my age!) and itā€™s lovely to see her in something as a grown up! Also loving the beautiful location of the show, warmth and sun which are currently in short supply here in Scotland.

Anyone who enjoys medical dramas (a la ER or St Elsewhere) should consider checking out The Pitt.
New to HBO/MAX, only 3 episodes have aired so far but I am completely hooked.

I have just watched The Breakthroug in Netflix. Itā€™s a mini series based on a true crime investigation in Sweden.

Iā€™ve just seen the final episode of Patience on UKā€™s C4, based on a French series Astrid et Raphaelle, and based in York. Itā€™s about a young neurodivergent woman working as a police records archivist and who solves the puzzles of murders in York - I was sad to get to the end of yesterdays episode and hope there will be another series.

I love it too.

Yes, I did.
Thereā€™s the crime investigation, which is entertaining and you know itā€™s based on a true story but there are also some other side topics like family, friendship and the controversial use of personal information. Quite interesting and well done.

Have just watched the documentary of the Jerry Springer show currently on Netflix. The show was my guilty pleasure for years, but it shows a very disturbing behind the scenes story. Manipulated guests, unscrupulous staff and public humiliation at its worst. Interesting documentary and very thought provoking.

We watched (for a 2nd time) the series House. Itā€™s kind of strange to watch it again so many years later and a bit worrying that we canā€™t recall half of the episodes! As a sitter I enjoy the episodes where they investigate a sick patientā€™s home for possible causes like: mould or fridge contents or vermin etcā€¦ā€¦

NORTH SHORE, a crime drama about a UK politicianā€™s daughter being murdered in Sydney, and the UK and Australian cops working together, not always amicably, to solve the case. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also, PLAYING NICE, a dark drama about 2 babies switched at birth in the neo natal unit of the hospital. filmed in Cornwall England.

Thanks for the recommendation. Weā€™ve now binge-watched all seasons of Unforgotten, and loved it (though were saddened and shocked by the final episode).
