# What Features Would You Like to See on THS?

Hi all
This is just my opinion and I wondered if anyone could feed it up to the powers that be in order to help everyone have a better experience.
Could HO have a specific criteria which they MUST complete. As sitters I’ve had to enter a process and become verified and then I feel I’m having to prove myself every single time via an application which if inappropriate was a total waste of time for both parties particularly for me as I’ve spent time writing a personalised application. Aware and accept that HO want to be assured of who we are and why we want to apply but there are instances where had I known some information I wouldn’t have applied.
I wonder if the following points would aid more relevant applications:
1. I’ve noticed that people use the nearest city as their location and the actual proximity could vary could HO provide accurate locations to where they live in their description as a must? This means people who are interested would still be captured by the initial listing but could sift out without a conversation exchange those which aren’t right.
2. Can bedrooms be a must and how many bedrooms can be used for the sit?
3. Can HO specify as a much if it’s for solo/ couples / child friendly and max limit of people…I have seen some people do this but it’s not routine and would save me lots of water applications and the disappointment
4. Can HO provide some idea of handover arrangements and start and end time in the main description again to help avoid disappointment and more useful applications for them
5. This is app related but it always crashes when I try and go into “my sit” where I’d like to access the welcome guide to check things during a sit. It’s been very glitchy lately, better on desktop but I don’t always travel with laptop.
Not sure if anyone wants to contribute and I know points 1-4 can be clarified via messages but since HO have a limit of applications before they have to review it would make the process easier particularly if these were incorporated into the filter options.

Coming up on 3 years as a sitter. What would help me at this point is more search filters. For example, I would like to be able to find sits with both cats AND horse. There is not a way to do this.

I did a search but hadn’t seen this discussed before. I think it would be useful to include a profile ranking system for both sitters and hosts. Much like a google location ranking, it should include the average overall star score and the total number of reviews, as well as the average score for the various sub-categories (Communication, Hospitality, Cleanliness etc). This would make it quicker for both sitters and hosts to gain an understanding of each other, rather than have to comb through every past review of profiles with plenty of reviews.

I’d like for there to be an option to apply for sits that start/end on the same date another sit starts/ends.
E.g. My current sit ends on 5th Oct (when I’m leaving the house) but I can’t apply for a sit that starts on 5th October.
If the sit is in the same city or nearby, it’s easy to go from one to the other.
Some owners are flexible when it comes to the start date because they’re leaving late in the day, or early next morning.
Also, it would be nice to have some clarity on the ‘end’ day.
Is it like at a hotel (end date is check out day) or is it inclusive of the day listed as the end date?
Most of the owners I sat for had divided opinions on it and I have to ask every time I have a new sit, because on one occasion the owner expected me to leave on what I assumed was an inclusive day because she had an Airbnb guest booked for that room and arriving that day, and suddenly I had to scramble to leave.

@TomorrowTamara It is possible to apply for sits which commence on the same day another ends! If you’re having problems with this, you should contact Membership Services.
And yes, the end date is the date when sitters leave.

I would like to have a search filter to look for exact dates and flexible dates. For example, search for an exact start day but leave the end date flexible.
I love filters and being able to narrow things down.

I would like to see the WiFi speed at the host house given in Mbps rather than “WiFi high-speed” which is wrong when the speed is less than 100Mbps.

I would like for there to be a way to see if I have already applied and been rejected for a sitter before, and to open up the conversation before applying.
I apply to a lot of sits and often look very silly applying to new dates as if I’ve never spoken to them before when my application shows up in the previous conversation.

Definatley. I posted the same thing. I know you can google it but it’s annoying. Why would they think everyone knows where "little dip under the ooze " is ?? Or Dans Bottom. ?
County,town and nearest station and airport would be grest.

Please add a Homeowner Checklist similar to the Welcome Guide. This would be a checklist of the bare minimum pre-sit cleaning and other household requirements. I am not pleased to show up to a sit with moldy shower curtains and tile, manky kitchen sponges, etc. This occurs even with the nicest HOs with the best photos.
i.e.
o Kitchen sink scrubbed
o New or sanitized sponge/brush
(Also nice to have dish detergent and hand soap)
o Bath/shower scrubbed, free of mildew
o Shower curtain cleaned, free of mildew
o Bathroom sink scrubbed, free of mildew
(Also nice to have hand soap and fresh hand towel)
o Toilet cleaned, free of mildew

People who are clean don’t need such lists and people who are dirty will just ignore such. The best chance is reviewing accurately, so hosts (or sitters) who are filthy don’t get sitters (or sits) going forward.
