I’m on a sit right now and I’m getting sick. Now I’m afraid that I won’t be able to look after the dog properly or go out with him enough… What is the best thing to do?
Welcome @lou_lou sorry you are feeling poorly . I hope you feel better soon . It could happen to anyone at anytime . How long is the sit ?
Did the homeowners give you any other contacts or introduce you to neighbours that could help out in an emergency?

Explain to the HO that you are feeling ill, and might not be able to take out the dog. Then it’s over to her. As long as the dog is fed and let out, she might be ok with that, or possibly ask a neighbour to help, until you feel better.

There are still 12 days left. Thanks for your ideas! I will see how I feel tomorrow and, if necessary, contact the HO to see if the neighbors can take over a few walks.

Are you able to do the minimum to let the dog out and walk far enough to meet their basic needs? My dog is remarkably adaptable when I am sick.

Even dog owners get sick! Agreed that if you’re able to do the bare minimum to get the dog’s needs met you should be good - and I’d also contact the owners so they are aware, and see if they have resources to help you with walks etc.
