# Where to propose in east Sardinia

I am planning to propose in June to my girlfriend. We will be staying near Cala Gonone and I want to find a beach where we could have a private beautiful moment. I am planning to do it in the morning with the sunrise. (Not sure how beautiful the sunset is on the east coast). We’ll have a car so if we have to travel to get to a nice spot that is not a problem.

I only know Santa Teresa di gallura in Sardinia but it’s a wonderful island and I’m sure you’ll find the perfect spot in the east coast!

Thank you for tagging me @botvot and I do have a couple of suggestions! 👍🏻🌎👑🙂
Firstly this is so exciting @John22 and I hope everything goes as planned. I absolutely love Sardinia and there are so many beautiful beaches, you have definitely picked the perfect place! ☀😊
@John22 My first suggestion is Cala Fuili. This is a beautiful beach which is very close to where you will be staying. Just to note for this suggestion you would have to walk down 200 steps and this is a white pebble beach so not sand but a lovely spot. 🏖
My second suggestion is Cala Cartoe which is just to the north of where you would be staying. This again is a beautiful beach and sandy, that you can drive to with a brief walk from the car park to the beach.
I have a final suggestion which I would suggest if you prefer a large sweeping sandy beach and this is Spiaggia di Foxiglioni. This again is beautiful but it would be a longer drive to the south from where you would be staying.

@Sam_F @Nadia111 Sorry to bother I was thinking about Cala Luna but I suppose that is not an option because there are no boats that early and going in the dark to get there by sunrise might not be the best idea 😅
Are there any similar places maybe nearby?

Sorry I really can’t help as I only know Santa Teresa di gallura beach and sassari but doubt the town is of any interest to you.
Have you tried forums dedicated to Italy? Or Sardinia maybe!

Hi @John22
No, there are no other beaches like Cala Luna where you have caves behind the beach. The only thing that I can suggest is for you to arrange a very early boat charter such that you get to Cala Luna early in the day before it gets too busy. You can trek to Cala Luna but it is a very difficult path and impossible in the dark so you couldn’t use this method to get there by sunrise.
The beaches I mentioned earlier are all beautiful in their own right and you could drive to them to watch the sunrise on them.
