Who is on a house sit just now? How's it going?

We could all rock up for a party @Twitcher:wink:

Looks fabulous @Colin! Just perfect for two great sitters to enjoy.

I wouldn’t want to ruin their impeccable track record :joy:

I am in snowy Dalwhinnie in the Scottish Highlands, it is picture postcard beautiful

there are 3 dogs in the outdoor photos, not 2, the white Jack Russell is cleverly camouflaged.

nice warm fire indooors.

I am in Toronto with a small, older dog. Very close to a large park, with nice dog runs. We walk to the dog runs, he goes around, sniffs, interacts, doesn’t play, as he is too old. And we come back. He can just be let out in the backyard to pee first thing and last thing. But it is really easy to just take him and walk a few houses and he does his business. So I still do my 4 walks. Though 2 are really short. I went from doing 6-7 miles per day on my sit on my monthlong sit in soutern CA a month ago, to chilly wintery Toronto walking a few houses and coming back. But loveable little dog.

A spot of that area’s whisky would be great for warming up as well. :tumbler_glass:

I am that rare Scot who does not like Whisky, I am a Vodka girl

We’ve not long returned from a long weekend in the valleys of South Wales with the lovely Willow.

Me!! Im in one of my favourite countries in the world, Ireland. The beautiful County Cork, right on the south coast.

I just love Irish people, the craic, the stunning landscapes, the sheer friendliness of strangers, the gift of the gab! Got chatting to a lovely 90 year old fella yesterday, who was working on his latest eccentric invention in his workshop. It was delightful

Middle of the first week of a 3 week sit with Miss Birdie in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Miss Birdie is a parrotlet – a budgie sized parrot. She’s not a talker, but does chirp (I think the males are talkers). She spends nights in her cage and comes out to a perch over my shoulder in a rocking chair daytimes. She eats the same food as big parrots, but much less - and her favorites are boiled egg yolks and strawberries.
Fond du Lac is an almost 200 year old town at the foot of Lake Winnebago. Old time downtown, lots of big 100+ year old houses that have had all the modern conveniences added. Been chilly and rainy for most of the first week.

TALKING ITALIAN

on my current sit the 3 working dogs, Setters, understand Italian, rather than English, due to their owner being Italian.

All the commands are in Italian, which I have a smattering of, so I am honing up on my pronunciation. The first 3 expressions I already knew from having 2 friends in different parts of Italy.

Let’s go!

Let’s eat!

and ENOUGH, usually when topping up the wine glass.

Happily starting a sit in Midtown Manhattan with two sweet, gentle kitties and a river view.

The dark cat is exceptionally friendly. I dozed off after arriving on a red eye and woke to find that he’d climbed under the pullover jacket I was wearing — he snuggled himself into it as I napped. :joy:

My hosts were gracious and appreciative, including leaving me wine.

My time with two Bengal cats. They are very striking in their stripes and beautiful green eyes. They are playful and always interested in food. I’m enjoying a wildlife programme with one of them! Apparently there are 37 species of cats on the Cat Family Tree. 600 million domestic cats worldwide!

One week in, two more to go with this happy lady.

The end is in sight lol! Is it a pointer?

Yikes, what a mess.

Oh My! I want to do this sit!

Miss Birdie has become very comfortable -

she is cute!

Currently looking after two Devon Rex cats in Paris. My first time with this breed - they’re very quirky looking. Both are very affectionate, though the black and white one took a little longer to get used to us.
