On a fabulous sit in Malta atm. Research day with my furry helper, who is slacking off atm!
We spent New year in Malta. Mosta is a must see and getting lost in Valetta. Enjoy.
A week with Luke, the cockatiel, in Black Mountain, NC - about 10 miles east of Asheville.
He spends all day outside of his cage- has a bird jungle gym on top of this cage to play on.
And he likes watching movies with me -
This morning he began singing along with the BBC news theme song. Not sure if TH will link to this. (the video may take some time to load - but it is only 5 seconds)
On a repeat sit (off site so no booking fees). Happy to look after these handsome boys in a very clean and comfortable home close to the Northumberland coast.
They are still young and a big skittish so in this photo it seems they are asking are you friend or foe? They will soon decide when they realise I am in charge of the Dreamie packet ![]()
Great posing for the camera ! I think they deserve a treat right now! Enjoy your time with the Dreamie team!
Doing a 2nd-time sit privately. Short few days. Been through the “where IS everything??” stage, the “how do you not have cleaning products in the bathroom?” stage, the “cats left a present” stage, the “indoor cat got out” stage… but it’s a lovely quiet spot and I’m not really complaining ![]()
Hi @BigDog
Boogie and Miso are adorable - it looks like they might have opposite personalities! Where are you sitting at the moment?
Just started a sit with a dog with a lovely personality. I wasn’t looking for sits on THS, but saw the host post on the forum that they were struggling to get applicants.
The location was somewhere I’d not been and was curious about, roughly three hours’ drive from me. It’s turned out to be beautiful, including the scenic drive part of the way.
The host welcomed me by touring me around a bunch of gorgeous woodsy and waterfront walks. Her dog is super sweet and has terrific recall off leash. Came even the first time I called.
Then she made us dinner and invited a lovely friend over, someone I can ask for help, if needed. We had great conversation. She also gave me her waterfront-view master bedroom and gift cards/gift certificates before leaving early this morning.
I’ve invited her to visit me and stay in my guest quarters if she likes sometimes, because I’m much closer to cultural activities that she enjoys and currently drives hours to reach.
How I love it when this reciprocal arrangement arises. It can be a great chance to make friends and like minded kindred spirits. Be a friend to make a friend is a motto I like to apply to my sitting challenges. From acorns tall oaks grow.
Enjoy the rest of your time there Maggie8K!
I feel the same way with this sit. My first time here and I’m being trusted for a month’s stay. It’s been an ideal sit until I realized the greedy beagle was foraging the palm dates ripening on the ground by the pool. These aren’t exactly toxic to dogs but are sugar bombs so too many aren’t good. Incidentally the pits can cause a blockage so I have volunteered to pick all the fallen ones and the gardener will deal with those still growing on the palm trees!
We suspected the dog had raided the kitchen but finally the mystery was solved!
Expect the unexpected comes to mind!
Here we are in Durango, Colorado for Fall! Unbelievable landscape with the Fall Foliage. I understand it gets even more beautiful as all the foliage changes to red and gold.
And of course, the most beautiful pups ever! Sullivan and Leo and I have been exploring this a gorgeous mountain town this week.
So much more to explore between the Hot Springs, the bee hives, the farms and nearby Silverton and Telluride.
Great photos @BigDog
we’d love to see more of Fall in Colorado!
I am on a repeat cat sit. They had asked me a couple times before, but wasn’t able to accomodate. This time it worked out. Two cats, low maintenance. Good place to be since I am planning to look for a permanent apartment and give up nomadic.
Happy one year anniversary @BigDog
