Will 2FA move from email to authenticators TOTP? Allowing a more seamless login and increased security. For MFA methods email is frequently ranked lower security and lower convenience then either SMS, Push notifications or TOTP.
When using public computers or public wifi I may not want to login to my email. I can however still get a 6 digit login code via authenticator app and still be able to login to the site.
Resolving this issues of; delayed emails, no phone signal (if sms backup where ever used (and I’m not suggesting it should be)), stolen phones (push notifications).
