They sound like bad partners for sits. And from my POV, people can be totally new to THS and hosting, and not need terms and conditions to be great hosts, simply because they naturally have courtesy and mutual regard for others. If they need terms to behave with consideration, to me they’re already trouble.

By contrast, I’ve sat for a number of first-time THS hosts who’ve been terrifically considerate. They’re out there and sitters who screen carefully and uphold boundaries will be more likely to have smooth sits. Such hosts are also much less likely to mess up a sitter’s record of good reviews.

Agreed. I’ve sat for wonderful first-timers and decent people don’t need a guidebook or rules to teach them. All the flags are there for the month long sit. They have never done a sit with THS and they probably should not do any as they don’t seem to be able to grasp the fair exchange concept. After reading many of your posts, I too now screen carefully, whereas when I first started I ignored some red flags, to my detriment. When people show you who they are, believe them.
