I actually don’t think this is true. I have been watching THS closely since they have introduced the booking fees last year and have noticed much more frequent updates on the app, and new features.
I also know that THS is trying to capture as much of the market as possible because it is evident that House sitting is going through a boom and will become a huge part of the travel sector. Some estimates predict it will be a 5 billion market by 2033.
So yeah, acquiring as many sitters and house owners now will pay off for them in the long run, which is why they are investing so heavily in advertising.
I honestly think that their expenses are mostly advertising and the booking fee is literally mostly spent on running the business.
