Cleaning expectations at airbnb

True, if you have access to a kitchen that is. Also, more homely than a hotel room

You have to look very carefully now at the cancellation policy. Not all of them have the 48 hrs policy.

That’s a really good point! Cleaning fees have become a major factor for many travelers when choosing between Airbnb and hotels. It’s understandable — if guests are expected to pay a high cleaning fee and still do chores, it can make hotels feel like the better value, especially with perks like points and daily housekeeping. Hopefully, more hosts start adjusting their fees or expectations to stay competitive!

I don’t clean Airbnbs, I’m paying a cleaning fee for them to clean. However, my reviews typically say how clean I left it, which makes me wonder how most people leave Airbnbs. I’m just a generally tidy person. If it’s a place with a kitchen, I wash any dishes I use and put them away, but I don’t vacuum, mop, clean bathrooms, etc. I’ve had a few ask me to take out garbage which I did, but that’s pretty much it.

I wouldn’t want to stay at a place that had the prior guests do the cleaning, that could be very bad.
