If anyone goes abroad where they’re not legally allowed to sit in exchange for housing, because it’s considered work, be careful about bringing leashes or other pet gear. That’s in case they search your baggage and it ends up making them (more) suspicious about you maybe sitting, rather than say being a normal tourist.
I have a hands-free leash that I prefer (you can wear one end across your torso or around your waist as you walk a dog or say sit down for a drink or meal). I considered bringing it with me on sits abroad (because the U.K. for instance has so many dog-friendly pubs, restaurants and such). But I decided against it to avoid raising border agents’ suspicions.
