Feedback on THS, HOW DID WE DO?

AHA. Confirms my suspicion that there are 2 versions.
This is what I got most recently.

Exactly. I tell them what I think of THS, and it is not great, so they do not invite me to share on TrustPilot.

They are trying to salvage the plummeting of their rating on Trust Pilot since the booking fees fiasco.

In my case my 1 star click still led to truspilot. I am EU member (it might be EU law thing, this is why I mention). Curious that there are multitude of results.

I got a “rate our support” type survey via email after I used the support@THS…. for a mapping issue i have for my house sit location. There are only 2 options for this survey (Good or Bad) so I chose Bad and explained the person was fine but is unable to actually solve the issue. I am still unable to choose the ACTUAL location with correct map location for my housesit. THS doesnt offer my ACTUAL location which is more desirable that the location I must choose. Although only about 10 miles apart, the difference in info on my actual town versus provided choice can be significant. My actual small town being more desirable and safe and considered the “tourist” area. My housesit is in Mexico just 4.5 hours from the US border. I have skipped the surveys sent for sits so far just because I didn’t want to base it on one successful sit. Now that I have several successful sits completed, I will be willing to participate in their survey like the one you posted about.

Here’s the type of survey I just did.

I just got my latest request to review them on Trust Pilot after another 5 star sit

They got 2 stars with an explanation of why…and I made it clear that they solicited my opinion.

My sit great. Thats because Im a good sitter and choose good home owners. THS not so much and here’s why. …

They gave me the opportunity for a public review. I didn’t want to miss the chance to have my say. I also got myself ‘verified’ on Trust pilot so there’s less chance of them having an issue with it.

You had a great 5 star sit (and presumably other positive experiences) yet you chose to leave a poor review for THS on Trustpilot. You and everyone else who does this will accomplish nothing but perhaps discouraging future potential members from joining THS, thus reducing the number of hosts and sitters.

You’re only hurting yourself. And of course the rest of us.

@idocsteve thats a bit rich isn’t it? You are the one that has constantly gone on, telling everyone that you always leave a five star review for your sitters, despite the fact that you believe one in particular wasn’t, simply so that you didn’t look bad! Don’t ask me to repeat the exact wording, I don’t have a photographic memory. But you have stressed time and time again that you refuse to look bad to other homeowners or sitters and always leave a five star review - regardless. One you stated was more a two star but you still gave a five. C’mon, even you know that is fact so how can you criticise @Brightlight I’m not being picky with you Steve, I’m stating fact from your own posts, constantly, on more than one occasion. If I had the time or the inclination, of which I have neither, I could copy your comments from previous topics. Why can’t you play fair :folded_hands:

I explicitly stated I had a good sit and why… ie. mainly due to me and my efforts.

THS is a matching platform. They get 2 stars for recent changes that made them less member friendly. Very clear what I was reviewing and why.

Not doing a disservice at all. They asked for my feedback in an underhanded way hoping I wouldn’t notice I was reviewing them, rather than my sit. I gave them honest feedback. They should appreciate it.

Yes it’s a fact that I wouldn’t leave less than 5 stars for a sitter with an unblemished 5 star review record because I would look like the bad guy and that bad review would adversely affect me rather than the bad sitter.

That much said, that has nothing to do with this situation, where countless THS members who have experienced success and satisfaction via the THS platform decide to dock as many as 4 stars simply due to a change in policy and increased fees.

As a result, the remaining members, probably including the reviewer may face adverse consequences in the form of less members joining the platform as they may be put off by the reviews.

The only similarity between my my 5 star review strategy and the poor reviews left on Trustpilot by disgruntled THS members is that when a sitter or host leaves a negative review for a member with nothing less than a positive history it will only work against them (especially if the reviewer doesn’t have a well established positive history).

Okay Steve, whatever makes you happy.

You do realize, I hope, that there is a private messaging feature on this forum that would let you and @idocsteve continue pointless exchanges without drowning out useful information sharing. Going in circles chasing your tail is your call but I think a certain obstinance has been established as immutable.
