Homeowners: How Do You Handle Sitters Being Away From Home?

When applying for sits with 1 or 2 dogs we check with the hosts if the dogs can come out with us and then do “touristy” activities that are dog-friendly.

For us that’s hikes ( with energetic dogs that need lots of exercise) or days out to visit stunning gardens or beaches.

Taking care of the pet is and should be the number one motivation for using THS. I just returned from a very nice sit in Nice, France with a dog with severe separation anxiety. As I could bring him everywhere, to restaurants, cafes, shops etc it was no hassle.

my favourite ever dog-friendly cafe.

It’s called The Orchard Tea Gardens in Grantchester, a very quaint village just outside Cambridge and about an hour from London.

It has tables and chairs amongst the apple trees and serves the most delicious coffee and they welcome dogs with open arms. They even serve fresh apple juice fresh from the orchard itself.

I’ve taken dogs on a hop on, hop off tour bus in Glasgow and on a river cruise in Stratford-upon-Avon.
