@Cathie do you use the library to download your eBooks? I have a Kindle but now I use the library audio eBooks, fantastic. When I can’t sleep, I set the book to an inbuilt timer and it reads me to sleep, works every time then I just restart it next time. Saves turning pages ![]()
Hi, I am new to THS and in the very early stages of a housesitting career (I Hope!) I would rather the homeowner shares a bit about themselves as it can help assist in knowing if someone is a good fit for you. I also like to see if someone is vegan or vegetarian as I am most definitely not but would not like to disrespect their home so wouldn’t apply for those sits. Occupations can be important, for example, I am a police officer and always mention that when I apply for a sit as that would be a problem for some people and I just like to get it out of the way from the outset, if it goes against me so be it, we wouldn’t have been a good fit anyway.
I understand some people want to keep it purely businesslike and thats fine too, a bit of info is my preference ![]()
Hi @Neila,
welcome to the forum!
Although you’re new, you seem to have learnt the most important part about THS
It’s all about finding good matches.
Re. vegetarian and vegan homes, most of them share that in their listings. Some only want other vegans as sitters, other ask to “go vegan” inside their house or even property and others are just happy if you don’t leave any animal products in their home.
I sat for a lovely vegan couple, who treated me to a delicious meal on arrival. They just asked me not leave any animal products in the house. I chose not to cook meat or fish out of respect for their life style but they did not ask me to refrain from eating or cooking anything.
