International Sitting Advice Wanted

Well, welcome to the world of Pet city

I have been international pet sitter since 2022 when I started my very first ever PetSit for 30 days travelling from Australia to Italy only knowing that I have a 30 day Petsit. That 30 day Petsit turned into five months with numerous Petsit all around Italy greater mainland Europe and UK. I subsequently relocated from Australia to Italy in February 2024 and since November 2024 I’ve been permanently Pet sitting back to back all around Italy greater mainland Europe and UK. As I type this message I have back-to-back Pet Sit’s book forward until early March 2026.

The above information was spirit to give you some background as to my experience

Every person situation is different in terms of their pet sitting travelling and luckily for you your digital nomad. I would love to hear what you do because I’m currently seeking suitable digital nomad employment which I’m finding a real challenge you’re welcome to reach out to me directly. Should you

As you’re a British citizen whilst travelling around internationally that gives you a European Haven because obviously you’re allowed to travel to and remain in UK for as long as you wish

I think the safest solution for those countries you’re travelling to where you do not have citizenship e.g. New Zealand in UK be sure too keep inside the tourist Visa timeframe and for those countries you’re visiting for lengthy periods. You may also wish to explore if they have visual nomad visas.

You also need to be aware that once you and a country for more than 183 days in a calendar year and the international tax law you then become a tax residence of that country which means you’re then required to be paying income tax on your earnings in that country. It doesn’t mean that you’ll be paying double tax because all major countries will have bilateral tax agreements between them so that any tax that you may be paying from your New Zealand employer assuming you’re employed and paying tax in New Zealand will be offset from the tax assessment in the country where you are now a tax resident

for you and anyone else who are interested in the tropic of taxation and income earns in other countries one in the country for more than 183 days there is a phenomenal YouTube social media group run by an international tax expert who specialises in Xpat taxand funnily enough just this week. He had a video blog on this very topic of Xpat visual nomad taxation.

Who is the link to the Video blog?

I’m not sure if admin’s allow me to include links. It’s clearly directly relevance to a large percentage of our TrustedHouseSitters. Do let me know if I need to remove it and I’ll be happy to say
