The fact you would reach out to strangers and ask them to “fill in” for something with zero compensation or equitable exchange is a bit alarming. Behavior like that is creating the concept that THS is not equitable exchange but on-call free labor.

I agree on this point. THS sitters don’t get paid and also don’t offer day care . For a sitter to suggest to an owner that another THS sitter might do this, undermines and undervalues the service we provide - which are supposed to be a mutual exchange.

This is not accurate. You can applg for a sit thatvstarts the same day as one ends. Also you can communicate with anyone you have already been in comunication with.
