It’s that time of year again when the weather warms up and you get sunshine & TICKS!

In the south of France, I found an adult gorged tick in my hair on December 1st 2024. I thoroughly disinfected my scalp but I had pain in my knees and was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks. The pain lasted about 6 weeks, but all gone now. However, I’m still very scared of ticks. My cat usually stays in the garden but still gets some once or twice a month. I just remove them by hand with a tick tweezer. I prefer not to use pesticides like neonicotinoids on my pets as it eventually ends up in the environment.
Tick removers are distributed free of charge round here, I think you can get them at the pharmacy, from vets, doctors etc…

Ugh, they are everywhere!! I love hiking but have done very little lately as I hear more & more stories of people finding tons of ticks on themselves
This stuff is supposed to be good. I can’t personally comment as I haven’t used it much yet.

I just take the tick with my fingers - pinch underneath it close to skin and twist slightly as I pull it out.
